The Cleveland Browns opened the 2019 preseason with a bang. Having won the coin toss, new Head Coach Freddie Kitchens decided to put his offense on the field first. Word came from sideline reporters Bernie Kosar and Dustin Fox that the Browns would open the game with a 2 minute drill, playing as if they had to score in a hurry.
Sure, it was the preseason and the results don’t really matter. Sure, we have to wait another week (or two, or four) to see the likes of Odell Beckham Jr and Jarvis Landry on the field. And we absolutely should not read too far into what we saw on the field (Baker had a perfect QB rating, BTW.) But there was something nice about starting the preseason action with a crisp and explosive performance after years of seeing players in the Brown and Orange look disorganized, discombobulated, or just downright bad.
