Highlights from the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards, with Kevin Stefanski in the house

The Cleveland Browns’ involvement at the 20th annual event.

The 20th Annual Greater Cleveland Sports Awards took place Wednesday night in at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel Grand Ballroom. ESPN’s Mike Golic was the emcee for the event, and the “Professional Athlete of the Year” award went to UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic.

Oddly enough, though, it was new Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski who presented the award. Miocic beat out Browns running back Nick Chubb, Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, and Indians catcher Roberto Perez. The Dolan Family was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kevin Stefanski Speaks

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke to the media for about ten minutes, doing a bit of an impromptu press conference. We didn’t learn much new, but in the early stages of seeing a head coach, a press conference like this still feels unique because we’re learning about the demeanor of Stefanski in general.

Silent Auction

The bid for a signed Baker Mayfield jersey started at and sold for $1,000.

Or, you could have bid on an LSU helmet with signatures from the Browns’ top two receivers, Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, which started at $1,250. The helmet sold for $3,000.

The Jarvis Landry signed orange jersey started at $300 and sold for $500.
