Will the Ogbah trade have only netted the Browns one year of Murray?

How and When He Joined the Browns: Last offseason, the Browns traded DE Emmanuel Ogbah to the Kansas City Chiefs to acquire Murray.

Productivity Level Last Season: He played in 9 games with the Browns, making 4 starts. He finished the season with 24 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 pass defended. Murray had arthroscopic knee surgery in early November that forced him to miss 7 games before returning for the final 2 games in a limited role.

Why Keeping Him Could Make Sense: Cleveland has a lot of free agent safeties, and although I’m hoping they re-sign Burris, Murray could fill that role too. Despite having a knee injury this past season, injuries were not a concern during his three seasons with the Chiefs. In 2018, he was Kansas City’s highest-graded safety, showing a pretty good ability to defend the run.

What the Browns Should Do: I view Murray as just another guy. I’ve already said that I think the Browns should re-sign Burris, but if they don’t know if they’ll be able to address free and strong safety in free agency and the draft, then Murray could probably be signed to a cheap 1-year deal close to the veteran minimum.

Let us know below whether or not the team should try to re-sign Eric Murray.

Should the Browns re-sign S Eric Murray?
