For the Detroit Lions I choose Jeffrey Okudah. The Lions have a multitude of needs, which may be why they ultimately trade down from #3, which gives them the luxury to choose best player available. While some would argue that this player is Isaiah Simmons, I think that he’s not the best system fit for Matt Patricia’s defense. Okudah offers to fill a hole in Detroit’s secondary with good size and elite athleticism.

Pokorny: “When I was reading Kiper’s mock draft a few weeks ago, it was funny to read him say, ‘...the additions of Jamie Collins, Danny Shelton and Nick Williams will help their defense immediately.’ I think the Lions have a lot of average holes to improve upon, so I also don’t see one glaring needs that jumps out. Okudah is the best cornerback in this year’s class, and I do favor head coaches land a player who falls on their specialty side of the ball.”
