The Cleveland Browns’ new uniforms are here! Many fans came to dislike the uniforms that were re-done in 2015, although the team’s losing ways and eventual 0-16 season didn’t help matters. Year by year, fans were counting down until the team would be able to re-do their uniforms again. The team unveiled the new uniforms for the 2020 season at 12:00 PM ET on Wednesday, and it is very much a return to normalcy:
“We wanted to get back to the roots of who the Browns are,” said Executive Vice President and Owner JW Johnson “We’ve heard it from our fans and from our players. We needed to get back to our roots.
The New Uniforms
The uniforms are a return to tradition, with the latest updated technology from Nike. One change that remains from the 2015 modifications is the brown facemask.
Here are some closer shots of the Browns’ primary jerseys and pants. They can wear any combination of these jerseys (brown or white) and pants (brown or white).
Color Rush Uniforms
The popular all-brown color rush jerseys are returning, with slight modifications such as the orange stripes being removed from the jersey and pants.
Paying Homage With 1946 Collar
Stitched inside the collar of every jersey is “1946,” the year the team was founded. It replaces “DAWG POUND,” which filled the spot from 2015-19. All three jersey fronts will not feature a word mark above the numbers.
No Brownie the Elf
For a moment, we wondered if Brownie the Elf would be incorporated into the uniforms via a patch of any kind. The elf did not make the cut, though.
