Unlike the Cowboys’ high-flying offense, their defense needs an infusion of young and talented players. Ranked 24th overall, they allowed a whooping 327 yards a game including a league-low seven interceptions. The pass rush must improve with losses of DT Maliek Collins and DE Robert Quinn in free agency. The biggest losses to the defense occurred in the backend with probably their brightest player in CB Byron Jones as well as sure tackling safety Jeff Heath. Dallas needs to stop the run and defend the pass better and with the 17th pick they can solve only one.

Pokorny: “I know Barry liked any group of Javon Kinlaw, K’Lavon Chaisson, Xaxier McKinney, and C.J. Henderson for Dallas here. Kinlaw and Henderson were off the board, and I think it’s wise to grab a pass rusher and address the safety position if they can in the second round.”
