While the trade that gave the Vikings the #22 pick leaves a hole at the wide receiver position, they address their need at cornerback by selecting Gladney. His versatile skill set gives the Vikings the option to use him inside or outside in the defensive secondary and he will be able to contribute immediately wherever he is placed. His strength is press man which fits the Vikings‘ coverage scheme. He is also physically tough and will play aggressively. I expect him to become a solid starter for the Vikings for years to come.

Pokorny: “The Vikings lost a lot of talent this offseason, but can make up for it with a strong couple of picks at No. 22 and No. 25. Just like the Raiders, who went WR-CB with their two first-round picks in this mock, I like the same strategy for Minnesota. I might have waited until No. 25 for Gladney (but BrianB77 doesn’t have that luxury, as he only GM’s this pick), but I guess the picks are close enough that they should be able to get both players they have their eye on.”
