Pete Carroll and John Schneider have a clear and identifiable pattern of building from the inside out in the draft. Over the past four drafts the have picked seven defensive line players on days one and two of the draft. Not only that, but the defensive line is an area of need as the Seahawks lost Quinton Jefferson, Al Woods, and currently Jadeveon Clowney from their defensive front.

Blacklock is an intense and physical player on the interior. He plays with a very high motor and defends the run well. He can push the pocket, has a quick first step and is relentless in pursuit and should develop as a formidable pass rusher in time. He’s a cornerstone building block and great value at number 27.

Pokorny: “Seattle could use some upgrades on both sides of the trenches. Their run blocking stood out in a bad way last year, but the losses on the defensive line this offseason have hurt too. Blacklock can fill one of those voids.”
