The rich just got richer! Looking at the Chiefs draft needs: LB, CB, & RB, the top 2 LBs that the Chiefs had a chance to get are already gone. As for CBs, I saw a lot good CBs already been selected and with the talent difference between the remaining CBs, I believe the Chiefs can select a CB in the 2nd round and not see that great of talent drop off. So what was left is selecting the best available talent per need at pick 32 and that was D’Andre Swift.

The current starting RB for the Chiefs is Damien Williams and he on the last year of his contract and most likely won’t be resigned. Swift can be brought to share the carries with Williams his rookie year, so he can work some of the issues he had during his college career. And after the 2020 season, Swift can be named the starter and be a cheaper option with him being on a rookie contract up to 2025.

Pokorny: “We came so close to a running back not being drafted in the first round! Not many teams seem to be running-back needy for the first round, so it makes sense. Swift could probably step right in to this electric Chiefs offense and be a contributor from Day 1.”

The Cleveland Browns are somewhat up next, as we skip forward to pick No. 41, led by Midnite Moses.
