Cleveland will host the 2021 NFL Draft from April 29 through May 1, 2021.
The Cleveland Browns announced the news on Tuesday along with the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and Destination Cleveland:
In #Cleveland, we know football isn’t a game, it’s a way of life. So, when we host the #NFLDraft April 29-May 1, 2021, we’ll do what we do best: throw a party. Life looks different right now, but we hope to celebrate together next year. https://t.co/V4HOsj2u2D #ThisisCLE @NFL pic.twitter.com/dHLRiKodUs— DestinationCleveland (@TheCLE) April 28, 2020
According to the news release, the 86th edition of the draft will take place at “iconic” locations around FirstEnergy Stadium and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland.
The various groups are working to provide an exceptional experience, Dave Jenkins, Browns executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in the release:
“The NFL Draft is an international celebration for our entire league and all sports fans, and we look forward to hosting the event, highlighting our city and continuing to share Northeast Ohio’s passion for football in 2021. Throughout the process, our local partnership and the NFL have focused on providing an exceptional experience for everyone in Cleveland, and prioritizing everyone’s safety and well-being is always a core component to achieving that goal, no matter the event or circumstance.”
In addition to the actual draft, the NFL Draft Experience will be offered all three days. The free event offers fans interactive exhibits and autograph sessions, as well as the opportunity to take a photo with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
The NFL awarded Cleveland the 2021 NFL Draft in May of 2019 and the event will coincide with the Browns celebrating their 75th anniversary throughout the year.
