With players taking their physicals over the weekend, the Cleveland Browns announced on Sunday that WR Jarvis Landry has been placed on the active/PUP list to begin the month of August.

The move is not anything to be concerned about. Landry had offseason hip surgery, and the timeline all along is that he would be able to return to regular activities some time in August, and all indications are that is remains on track for that recovery.

Placing Landry on the active/PUP list is basically a formality required to allow the player to potentially be placed on the reserve/PUP list when final roster cuts are due.

While on the active/PUP list, Landry can not practice, but if he’s medically cleared during camp, he can immediately re-join practice. He will still count toward the 80-man roster until final roster cuts are due, so the team cannot add another player in the mean time.

Additionally, WR J’Mon Moore was placed on the active/non-football injury list with a hamstring issue.
