According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Cleveland Browns CB Kevin Johnson could be back sooner than expected from his lacerated liver:
#Browns CB Kevin Johnson, released from the hospital Friday after a lacerated liver, is going through protocol to rejoin the team to be back Tuesday, source said. He’ll have a 2-week ramp-up/conditioning, then get liver scans. A chance he misses just a week or 2 this season.

The timeline for recovery from such an injury varies from case-to-case, but this report indicates that Johnson might be on the fortunate side. The timeline set out for him is that he will begin a ramp-up and conditioning period on Tuesday with the team for two weeks, before having liver scans. Rapoport says that he may only miss a week or two this season — which would be great news — but I’m wondering if there’s a chance he could even be ready for the opener (especially considering that Week 2 game is on Thursday Night Football).
In the mean time, M.J. Stewart has been filling in for Johnson as the team’s nickelback in practice.
