The Cleveland Browns signed center Jon Toth on Thursday.
In a corresponding transaction, the club placed defensive end Curtis Weaver - who was claimed on waivers on Tuesday - on injured reserve with a foot injury.

Toth, who is 6-foot-5 and 298 pounds, originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky. He bounced around on Philadelphia’s practice squad for two seasons before spending time on the practice squad of the New York Jets in 2018.
Earlier this year he played with the D.C. Defenders of the short-lived XFL.
Toth did not miss a game during his four years at Kentucky and made 48 consecutive starts at one point. He was a First Team All-SEC selection his senior year and was considered a solid NFL prospect before surgery to repair a disc in his back just prior to the 2017 NFL Draft.
With the Browns, Toth will likely get some practice reps to give rookie Nick Harris a break while the team waits for starting center JC Tretter to recover from a knee procedure that he had the day before the start of training camp.
