As a Cleveland Browns fan, what do you do on game day? Go to a sports bar? Stay home? Get with some friends and watch the game?
On browns.com, they have established this worldwide network of fandom they entitle “Browns Backers Worldwide.” There are literally chapters everywhere. Really, like 22 countries worth. You name a state and there’s a chapter.
And within these chapters are Presidents who have either founded the local chapter or have passed it along to someone who has agreed to take the time to run it, keep their members in touch and find a suitable viewing location.
The Muni Lot Browns Backers chapter out of Berea, Ohio viewing location is always the tailgate lot. They arrive at 4:00 a.m. (not a misprint) for a typical game and start with a breakfast prepared by Facepaint Mike. Once in the lot, the steak and shrimp served by the Tailgate Dawgs, and the huge selection of wonderful food brought by their members insure that nobody heads into the game hungry. This group uses the Grindstone Tap House for non-game day events.
With this devotion in mind, here at DBN we have invited five chapter Presidents this week to tell us what they think about the upcoming game, who they honestly think will win, and by what score. This is a short week as the Browns take on their state rival with a short turnaround.
There may be a Browns Backers chapter near you. To find out, click this link:

Short Vine Browns Backers
President: Seth Oakley (with Corey Black)
Cincinnati, Ohio
Viewing location: Mio’s Pizzaria and Pub - Clifton
Best menu item: Stuffed pizza with Sam Adams Oktoberfest
Favorite player growing up: Bernie Kosar
Favorite player now: Jarvis Landry
Week 2 Prediction: “The Browns will win 31-17 in a sloppy game by grinding it out over the Bengals. Myles Garrett will bring Joe Burrow to the turf three times on the day. This game is especially interesting as it’s a Primetime Thursday game and Joe Burrow’s first away game plus a divisional game. The Browns will have a tough time running the ball early against a very good Bengals defensive line so Baker Mayfield will need to throw the ball well. The injury bug could play a factor for both teams with A.J. Green and Tee Higgins for Cincinnati and maybe Mack Wilson on our side.”

The Dawg Pound of Cheyenne
President: Curtis Swanson
Cheyenne, Wyoming
Favorite former player: Bernie Kosar
Favorite player now: Scottish Hammer
Viewing location: Uncle Charlie’s Grill and Tavern

Week 2 Prediction: “Cincinnati 21, Cleveland 17. After a miserable 2019 campaign for the Bengals, they show they have something to prove in 2020 by upsetting the heavily-favored Browns in the Battle for Ohio Part 1.”

Pretoria Browns Backers
President: Janro Botha
Moreletapark, Pretoria - South Africa
Viewing location: Hennie’s Sports Bar
Best menu item: Spicy wings with Hennie’s sauces
Favorite former player: Joe Thomas
Favorite current player: Denzel Ward
Week 2 Prediction: “I think that The Browns will beat the Bengals at home. The score will be 24 for the Browns and 7 for the Bengals. With Joe burrow only on his second start of his career I predict that the Bengals will be capable of scoring some points, but under the pressure of playing an away game it becomes more difficult for him to make plays and he even takes two sacks by Myles Garrett. The Browns will win by running the ball with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.”

Muni Lot Browns Backers

Cleveland, Ohio
Favorite former player: Lou Groza
Favorite player now: Jarvis Landry

Week 2 Prediction: “The Browns offense hits its stride with Nick Chubb breaking the 100-yard mark and Baker Mayfield throwing for three touchdowns. Austin Hooper gets his first touchdown as a Cleveland Brown. Joe Burrow shows promise, but just can’t escape Cleveland’s ferocious pass rush. The Browns get to Burrow six times, including two from Myles Garrett. Cleveland wins 38-10.”

Whiskey City Browns Backers
President: Shital Shah
Peoria, Illinois
Favorite former player: Dave Logan
Favorite player now: Myles Garrett
Viewing location: Double A’s Pizza
Best thing on the menu: Homemade chips appetizer
Week 2 Prediction: “At the home opener on Thursday Night Football, the team will be ready to showcase the new offense under Coach Stefanski. Using last week as a primer and warm up, the gears will be spinning as the run happy Browns will have the Bengals chasing them up and down the field. With DT Renell Wren likely out for the season, this already marginal defensive line will take a large step back. The ongoing issues with A.J. Green and his new hamstring injury will further hamper the practice chemistry, and therefore game-time chemistry with rookie Joe Burrow. The Bengals will ultimately improve over the season as Burrow is a talented QB. However, Game 2 of a season without a preseason and atypical off-season will hamper their progress until late in the season. Browns over Bengals 27 – 13.”
