Cager is a large target at 6-foot-5 and 220-pounds. He played four seasons at the Univerity of Miami before transferring to Georgia, where he played the 2019 season as a grad student. All told, he finished his collegiate career with 78 receptions for 1,157 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Over his final two seasons, he had 54 of those receptions for 850 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Cager signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He opened that season on New York’s practice squad, but was on the active roster in Weeks 3 and 4, catching two passes on six targets for 35 yards.
He then spent 10 weeks back on the practice squad before being back on the gameday roster for the season’s final four games but did not play.
During the 2021 preseason with the Jets, Cager had four receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown.
