Next up on our 2021 review of the Browns’ unrestricted free agents is S Tedric Thompson.

How and When He Joined the Browns: Originally an undrafted free agent signed by the Seahawks in 2017, Thompson played in 8 games with the Chiefs in 2020 before being claimed off waivers by the Browns in November 2020.
Productivity Level Last Season: Thompson had 11 tackles in a reserve role with the Chiefs. He did not see any action with the Browns.
Why Keeping Him Could Make Sense: Cleveland originally added Thompson as insurance depth at the position when Ronnie Harrison suffered an injury. However, Karl Joseph was able to fill in at strong safety. Fans thought that Thompson would eventually be worked into the mix, but that never happened. He has starting experience with the Seahawks and would come cheaper than Joseph and Sendejo, so it wouldn’t hurt to see what he can offer.
What the Browns Should Do: The Browns could sign him for the minimum, but I’m ready to continue the sweep at the position, aside from Harrison, Grant Delpit, and Sheldrick Redwine.
Let us know below whether or not the team should try to re-sign Tedric Thompson.
