Draft INSIGHT: Round 1 - DE Jayson Oweh

A very quick defensive end that possesses a great first step. The 4.36 40 time is not a misprint. Will need some developmental time for at least a season, but will pay off. Oweh will generate good push with the bull rush and has the hand strength to engage bigger offensive linemen. A disruptive force at times. Zero sacks last year but very good run stuffer and can generate pocket pressure.

Defensive end Kwity Paye of Michigan would be the best choice to pair with Myles Garrett, but all resources point to him going in the mid-teens and thus out of Cleveland’s reach unless they want to trade-up in the first-round, which is unlikely.

Oweh is a freakish athlete and a complete player. Simply put, he can get after the quarterback. His run support game is excellent as well as he posted an 81.7 pass-rush grade. Cleveland could use help in both aspects of his game with exceptional speed off the edge.
