The retirement of longtime Colts stalwart OT Anthony Castonzo leaves a hole the Colts did not fill during the free agency period. There were several DEs still available in this spot that were considered but Cosmi brings the needed experience to fortify the OT position for the Colts. Cosmi started in 34 of 35 games at OT for the Longhorns, with 21 of those at LT. He provides Carson Wentz with needed blind-side protection and solidifies a very strong OL for Indy.
Pokorny: “Carson Wentz had a disastrous offensive line in Philadelphia, and if he’s going to have a shot to rejuevinate his career in Indy, then he needs to have time to throw. Whether it’s the first round or second round, picking an offensive tackle to replace Castonzo seems like a good move.”
