It has been 18 years since the Packers have drafted a Wide Receiver in the first round. Much has been made about not giving Aaron Rodgers the weapons he needs to take advantage of his talent. With drafting a QB in the 1st round last year, the Packers are in “win now” mode, squeezing out the last few years on the future Hall of Famers career.

The Packers GM has shown a trend to pick high SPARQ athletes with tremendous upside, such as Rashan Gary. With most of the top OT’s and CB’s taken, the Packers are lucky to be left with WR’s Rashod Bateman, Terrance Marshall Jr, Elijah Moore, and Kadarius Toney to choose from.

Toney’s presence makes an immediate impact on the field. A game breaking weapon like Toney excels when the play breaks down and getting yards after the catch. However, Toney lacks polish as a route runner and only has one year of solid production in college. Still his instincts, physicality, creativity with the ball make him the best fit.

Pokorny: “I love Toney’s skillset and elusiveness, and for him to land with the Packers would be a great pick to help continue propelling that offense and taking advantage of the back end of Aaron Rodgers’ career.”
