I’m excited to see all of the NFL Draft-related decorations that will be appearing in Cleveland this month, leading up to the draft itself from April 29 to May 1. Now, you have an early opportunity to see some of those decorations: all 32 teams’ helmets featured at Mall C in Downtown Cleveland, with FirstEnergy Stadium in the background.
Saturday afternoon, I went down to Mall C to film a six-minute tour of the helmets, showing the perspective of the location in Downtown Cleveland. I was curious if I would see any construction of the draft stage itself yet, but as far as I could tell, work has not started on that yet.
In a few weeks, you can expect much bigger crowds in the area and around Downtown Cleveland in general. For now, it was very spacious, with one security guard asking fans not to stand on the helmet platforms, while also offering to take group photos for people with their camera. Helmets from the AFC were in the first row (with the exception of two), and then all the NFC teams were in the second row (closer to the stadium). The Colts and Texans were also in the second row, for spacing reasons. I’ve included some pictures of the helmets in the gallery below.
