As the Cleveland Browns have seen their fortunes improve on the field, the team’s media department has similarly upped its game.

It started in 2020 with Building the Browns, a 13-episode video series that chronicled the season from the hiring of general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski, to the team’s playoff run that ended in Kansas City.

In addition, the series Browns Breakdowns examined each of the team’s selections in the 2020 NFL Draft. That series will return following this year’s draft, but before we get there, Browns Breakdowns will take a look at some of the legendary players that have played for the team as it celebrates its 75th anniversary.

According to, Nathan Zegura, the team’s senior media broadcaster, and current position coaches will take an in-depth look at the following players:

  • Joe Thomas, a 10-time Pro Bowl left tackle who played for the Browns from 2007 to 2017 (released April 1)
  • Bernie Kosar, who quarterbacked the Browns to three AFC Championship Games in the late 1980s (released April 5)
  • Hanford Dixon, a three-time Pro Bowl cornerback and co-creator of the Dawgs nickname who played for the Browns from 1981 to 1989 (coming April 8)
  • Josh Cribbs, who holds 11 franchise records after being one of the league’s best kick returners from 2005 to 2012 (coming April 12)
  • Otto Graham, a Hall of Fame quarterback who led the Browns to seven titles in 10 seasons from 1946 to 1955 (coming April 15)
  • Paul Warfield, a Hall of Fame wide receiver who played eight seasons for the Browns (1964 to 1969 and 1976 to 1977) and was a member of the team’s last championship squad (coming April 19)
