It is Saturday, and that means rounds 4-7 of the 2021 NFL Draft will take place for the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the teams in the NFL. The action starts at 12:00 PM ET, and teams will have 5 minutes to make their selections (compensatory picks will last 4 minutes).

We will have all of your Browns-related coverage on the draft here at Dawgs By Nature throughout the weekend. This thread will act as a “live blog,” with updates about the latest small rumors, picks, or trades involving Cleveland or other NFL teams. You should also use the comments section as your NFL Draft open thread! (Newest updates will be at the top of the live blog below)

Browns NFL Draft Live Blog

6:50 PM: The 2021 NFL Draft has concluded! However, teams will now begin starting to sign undrafted free agents, so head on over to that thread now. I might not be able to give live updates, so rely on the comments section initially. I am editing my NFL Draft Experience video and working on uploading it, and then will be headed home.

5:54 PM: Thanks so much to Thomas Moore, who took over the articles through round five, as well as the live blog! That allowed me to take tons of pictures and videos of the NFL Draft Experience today, which I will try to edit for DBN in a bit. In the interim, the Browns also made their sixth-round pick, which you can read about here: RB Demetric Felton.

3:15 PM: With the No. 169 overall selection, the Browns pick safety Richard LeCounte III from Georgia. Here is our story on the pick.

2:37 PM: Never a good idea to doubt the powers of general manager Andrew Berry.

2:30 PM: With the No. 153 overall selection, the Cleveland Browns selected linebacker Tony Fields II from West Virginia. Here is our story on the pick.

2:10 PM: It is a great day to be in downtown Cleveland at the draft.

2 PM: James Hudson meets with the Browns beat writers.

1:45 PM: Tommy Togiai meets with the Browns beat writers.

1:15 PM: With their second fourth-round pick (No. 132), the Browns selected defensive tackle Tommy Togiai. Here is our story on the selection.

1:05 PM: Staying with James Hudson, the Browns are planning to see just how versatile he can be on the offensive line as they will have him play tackle but also give him some work at guard.

12:31 PM: Shortly after selecting James Hudson, general manager Andrew Berry made a trade with the Detroit Lions. Berry sent picks No. 113 and No. 257 to Detroit in exchange for Detroit’s fifth-round pick (No. 153) and a fourth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Browns next pick is currently scheduled to be No. 132 overall.

12:25 PM: The Cleveland Browns select offensive tackle James Hudson out of Cincinnati with the No. 110 overall pick. Here is our story on the selection.

12:13 PM: And we are off! The Jacksonville Jaguars open up the day by selecting defensive tackle Jay Tufele from USC.

9:50 AM: It is safe to say that Myles Garrett has not skipped too many workouts this offseason.

9:24 AM: Things you like to hear:

9:16 AM: PFF has their Top 100 remaining prospects list up here. The Browns have the fifth and eighth picks of the day, so it is realistic to think that they’ll have a chance at snagging who they want without a trade.

1. LB Jabril Cox
2. S Jamar Johnson
3. S Ar’Darius Washington
4. EDGE Rashad Weaver
5. CB Tay Gowan

9:00 AM: Here are the three draft picks the Cleveland Browns have left today:

  • 4th Round: No. 110 overall (5th of the round)
  • 4th Round: No. 113 overall (8th of the round)
  • 4th Round: No. 132 overall (27th of the round)
  • 5th Round: No. 169 overall (25th of the round)
  • 6th Round: No. 211 overall (27th of the round)
  • 7th Round: No. 257 overall (29th of the round)

Immediately following the draft, teams will be trying to sign undrafted free agents. We will cover that in a separate thread as we always do. However, unlike previous years, there will probably be much fewer names because teams are not in position to host rookie tryouts.
