Selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft at No. 26 overall out of Northwestern, Newsome’s contract will be worth about $12.7 million, with a signing bonus of $6.6 million, over four years, according to Over The Cap’s predetermined draft chart. Newsome’s cap hit in 2021 will be approximately $2.3 million.

The 6-foot and 192-pound Newsome was a first-team Big Ten selection and a third-team All-American in 2020 for the Wildcats, finishing the season allowing just a 31.6 percent completion rate to throws in his direction.
Newsome will be in line to earn the starting spot opposite cornerback Denzel Ward during training camp as he competes with Greedy Williams, who is returning after missing the entire 2020 season with a nerve injury in his shoulder, in Cleveland’s rebuilt secondary.
Newsome will wear No. 20 with the Browns.
