The Cleveland Browns season continues to be close to miraculous. With injury after injury piling up, the Browns ran their record to 7-3 on the year with a Week 11 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Deshaun Watson out for the season, Dorian Thompson-Robinson took the helm against the Steelers.
While DTR wasn’t perfect, he had two drives for the Cleveland victory.
The quarterback room will not stay the same, however. After working out Joe Flacco on Friday, along with 10 other players, the former Super Bowl champion and first-round pick will be joining the team for Week 12:
Former Ravens’ QB and Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco is signing with the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad, per me and @FieldYates. It is expected that Flacco will get promoted to active roster. Cleveland fans remember Flacco well from his time with the rival Baltimore Ravens and from his miraculous comeback victory leading the New York Jets to two touchdowns with less than two minutes left in the game.
The team has made the Flacco signing official and released WR Trinity Benson from the practice squad to make room for the quarterback.
For his career, Flacco is a 62% passer with 232 touchdowns and 147 interceptions.
It is likely that the team will give the veteran a week or two before deciding to elevate him for games or sign him to the 53-man roster. If concerns linger about Thompson-Robinson's ability to lead the team, Flacco could play similar to how Jacoby Brissett did in 2022.
What do you think Flacco’s role should be this year for the Browns?
