Week 12 of the NFL season kicks off today with a Thanksgiving Day slate of games.
Starting things off is the Green Bay Packers (4-6) against the Detroit Lions (8-2). Detroit is back on a roll, and earlier this season, they held a 27-3 halftime lead over Green Bay. The Lions have had some concerns defensively in terms of the number of points allowed in some of these games — allowing 29 points per game in their last four — but the Packers have really struggled to be consistent on offense. Lions 31, Packers 17. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Lions are 7.5 point favorites against the Packers.
The afternoon game features the Washington Commanders (4-7) taking on the Dallas Cowboys (7-3). Washington’s hot start to the season was quickly cooled, and it’s cooling even faster as the losses are starting to pile up, including against the hopeless New York Giants a week ago. The spread for this game is understandable because Washington is looking lifeless; I would give Jacoby Brissett a shot. Cowboys 26, Commanders 20. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Cowboys are 12.5 point favorites against the Commanders.
The traditional Thursday Night Football offering features the San Francisco 49ers (7-3) battling the Seattle Seahawks (6-4). These two teams will play each other twice in a three-week span, which could make things either really interesting for the NFC West title, or keep the 49ers firmly in the driver’s seat. The 49ers had a weird three-game stretch of losing against Cleveland, Minnesota, and Cincinnati, but they have snapped out of it with defensive reinforcements. I like them to take command on the road here too. 49ers 28, Seahawks 17. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the 49ers are 7.5 point favorites against the Seahawks.
