Joe Flacco, Browns injury updates Wednesday

Browns starting QB versus the Rams could come with a depleted roster

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

With the unique schedule the Cleveland Browns have this week while practicing at UCLA, we will have to wait a little longer for the official injury report. We know that the focus from most will be on the Browns quarterback position and DE Myles Garrett as injuries linger for both.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson is dealing with a concussion with Joe Flacco waiting in the wings while Garrett might be “day-to-day” but could have something more going on with his shoulder.

No big deal, right? Cleveland is only fighting for their playoff lives to join a rare group to make the playoffs starting three or four quarterbacks in a season.

While we asked you Tuesday if Flacco should start this week no matter what, HC Kevin Stefanski informed the media Wednesday that Flacco is the backup but would start if DTR is unable to play:

Prior to practice, the Browns also provided a list of seven players who would not be practicing due to injury. There may be more that are DNPs on the official report on top of:

  • Myles Garrett - Shoulder
  • Marquise Goodwin - Concussion
  • Kareem Hunt - Groin
  • Juan Thornhill - Calf
  • Wyatt Teller - Calf
  • Dorian Thompson-Robinson - Concussion
  • Denzel Ward Shoulder

We will get you the full practice participation report as it becomes available shortly.
