Browns playoff chance and AFC playoff standings right after Browns Week 16 victory

AFC seeding is interesting with a couple of big games left in Week 16

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns are 10-5 after knocking off the Houston Texans in Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season. Unfortunately, the Browns were not able to clinch a playoff spot this week due to wins by the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

With a couple of important games left to finish in Week 16, the AFC playoff picture is really interesting with two weeks left. We will have the final standings posted Tuesday morning after the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens games are completed.

At the completion of Cleveland’s Week 16 victory, the Browns are tied for the second most victories in the AFC:

According to a variety of betting and data places, the Browns playoff chances are almost certain. According to ESPN, Cleveland missing the playoffs is close to impossible:

The Ravens (San Francisco 49ers) and Dolphins (Dallas Cowboys) have difficult opponents this week while the Chiefs (Las Vegas Raiders) face off with a division foe.

If everything goes Cleveland’s way, they will be one game behind Baltimore for the AFC North and tied with Miami for second in the conference.
