With a quick turnaround from Week 16’s game on the road against the Houston Texans and their home game on Thursday Night Football against the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns injuries are not going to have a lot of time to heal.
Tuesday, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski informed the media that QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be placed on injured reserve due to his hip injury. Kicker Dustin Hopkins will not be able to play against the Jets due to his groin injury that is “week to week.”
Hopkins’ playoff hopes are up in the air:
Kevin Stefanski asked if K Dustin Hopkins will be available come playoff time? "I can't say. I don't know" #Browns— Daryl Ruiter (@RuiterWrongFAN) December 26, 2023
Kicker Riley Patterson was signed as insurance against Hopkins missing time.
The final injury update from Stefanski was a little less certain. Punter Corey Bojorquez’s status for Thursday is unclear. Cleveland is reportedly signing a punter to the practice squad in case Bojorquez will not be available.
QB PJ Walker will return to the active roster to take DTR’s roster spot but the team has not officially announced that move or the punter addition.
