As has been true multiple times this season, a matchup that looked to be full of excitement and meaning has become something far less. Whether it has been injuries to big name quarterbacks or teams that have just failed to meet expectations, the Cleveland Browns schedule has vacillated greatly in living up to preseason hype.
The final game of the season, an AFC North matchup and the second Battle of Ohio for the season, against the Cincinnati Bengals will fall in line with the underwhelming.
The Browns are locked into the fifth seed with nothing to play for while the Bengals are eliminated from the playoffs with only pride (they haven’t won a game in the division this year) on the line.
As it has recently, the NFL held off scheduling actual days and times of the Week 18 games to make sure that the ones that impacted each other were being played at the same time and key matchups were left in primetime slots.
Cleveland vs Cincinnati is neither of those as mostly backups will take the field for at least the visitors and, most likely, the home team as well.
As the world was counting down to 2024 (or already asleep), the NFL provided the details for the Browns vs Bengals game in Week 18:
