Community Convo: Predicting the Browns future

Cleveland is in the playoffs if the season ended today but what about when the season ends?

Despite a tough schedule and a litany of injuries, the Cleveland Browns are 7-5. With this article coming out after the team’s first two-game losing streak of the year, that record feels less positive than it really is.

Practice squad QB Joe Flacco looked promising in his first start but is not certain to be the Browns starting QB for the rest of the year. The AFC North continues to see more and more injuries, including at QB, that are impacting the division while Cleveland hums along in the AFC playoff picture.

Next up, the Jacksonville Jaguars at home. While the Jags are a good team, they lost a number of players during Monday Night Football in Week 13. Those injuries, especially to QB Trevor Lawrence, have greatly impacted betting lines for the Week 14 matchup.

After Jacksonville comes to town, the Browns welcome the Chicago Bears, travel to face the surprising Houston Texans before ending the season with the New York Jets at home and the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.

Four of Cleveland’s last five games will occur in the great State of Ohio.

So we come to you for this week’s Community Convo.

Predict the future: At 7-5 now with those five games remaining, what will the Browns record be by the end of the season? Will they make the playoffs? Win a game in the postseason? Miss the playoffs based on record? Miss based on tiebreakers?
