Browns starting QB: This Thursday video hints toward Week 14 decision

Joe Flacco or Dorian Thompson-Robinson (DTR) versus the Jaguars

NFL: Cleveland Browns at Los Angeles Rams Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns season story can be wrapped around injuries, especially to Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb and Jack Conklin. If those three players were healthy, the Browns might be considered among the favorites in the AFC.

Instead, Cleveland was forced to start QB Joe Flacco in Week 13 after he signed to the team 13 days prior due to Watson’s injury, PJ Walker’s poor performance and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s concussion. Flacco’s start was promising but Kevin Stefanski has not named a starter for Week 14 as DTR starts his process out of concussion protocol.

While Stefanski may not give an official decision until Sunday, early video from Browns practice indicates that Flacco is likely to get the starting nod versus the Jacksonville Jaguars:

Deciding between Flacco and DTR could come down to the rookie’s recovery from concussion as he is currently listed as the team’s starter while the veteran is still on the practice squad.

Flacco gives Cleveland the highest floor for performance but Thompson-Robinson may be seen to have the higher ceiling that could give the Browns at least a chance in the playoffs. The veteran might be more likely to get the team the three or so wins they need to make it but getting the rookie reps could prepare him to excel in the post season.

We will keep you up to date on the QB decision as we get more information.

Do you think the above video means for sure Flacco starts this week?
