Browns Roster for Week 18: Cleveland elevates 2

Browns vs Bengals has little meaning but keeping players healthy is vital for playoff bound Cleveland

NFL: Los Angeles Rams-OTA Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Browns face off with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18 of the NFL season. A game where many thought the home crowd in southwest Ohio would be going wild will, instead, be full of a lot of mild.

Nothing to play for with each AFC North team as the Browns head to the playoffs and the Bengals head to the offseason.

Cleveland’s main goal is keeping guys healthy. Eight players were ruled out already for Sunday. With a roster of just 53 players and two practice squad elevations, it will be interesting who plays Sunday.

DB Vincent Gray and kicker Riley Patterson were elevated from the practice squad by the Browns on Saturday.

Patterson’s elevation was all but certain with regular kicker Dustin Hopkins ruled out for the game. Unless Cleveland had a positional player kick-off and eschewed extra point tries for two-point conversion attempts, Patterson was being added.

Punter Corey Bojorquez missed Week 17 after getting hurt kicking off in place of Hopkins the previous week.

Gray’s elevation makes sense due to his versatility as a cornerback and safety. The Browns have ruled out three defensive backs for Sunday.

Cleveland’s inactive list against Cincinnati will be filled up by the players ruled out but a few others will be dressed but not playing as well.

We will keep you up to date if any other roster moves occur and when the inactive lists are official on Sunday.
